Step2 Contract Manufacturing

Step2

Built on 35 years of rotational molding

Step2 Commercial is the industrial and contract manufacturing division of The Step2 Company, one of the largest rotational molders in the United States. Since 1991 we have built our business on high-volume domestic production, and we now bring that same capability to companies who need parts, tanks, and finished goods made in the USA.

We operate two plants in Ohio; Streetsboro and Perrysville, running 26 rotational molding machines. Together they ship roughly three million units a year. Our scale as a resin purchaser is among the largest in the country, and that buying power is what lets us hold competitive pricing on work made in the USA.

Everything happens under our own roof: design and engineering, tooling, molding, foam, assembly, warehousing, and distribution. One supplier, one point of contact, one domestic supply chain.

You've probably used something we made

For decades, Step2 has quietly manufactured products for other companies, including coolers, carts, equipment housings, recreation and pet products and commercial and industrial components, all sold under their brands, not ours. Our contract manufacturing business is built for companies who need rotationally molded parts produced at volume, in the United States, by a partner who has done it a few thousand times.

TRANSFER AN EXISTING TOOL

We onboard your tooling and get you back into production with minimal downtime. That includes tooling refurbishment and Teflon coating, transfer of supply chain management, and pilot part approval, on-site or virtual.

Capabilities

  • Rotational molding - 26 machines across two plants in multiple sizes to suit varied part dimensions.
  • Tooling - design and fabrication, domestic and overseas procurement, refurbishment and repair, post-mold fixture development, preventative maintenance.
  • Automation - multi-pallet 6-axis robotic cell for drilling, cutting and routing; 3-axis CNC router; horizontal CNC bandsaw.
